SBC AMERICAS (April 30, 2024) – The New Hampshire Lottery is the latest state lottery to join Instant Win Gaming’s Mega Money Jackpots.
Mega Money Jackpots is a multi-state eInstant progressive jackpot powered by IWG’s InstantJackpots. New Hampshire is the third state lottery program to join the platform, after Pennsylvania and Virginia.
The Granite State‘s lottery launched its Jackpot Spectacular game in the pool on April 24.
“We’re excited to join Mega Money Jackpots and to bring the excitement of it outsized prizes to our players. We know that our contribution will further enhance the game for everyone involved, and we look forward to creating some new millionaires here in New Hampshire.”
“Our industry has a proud track record of collaborating across state lotteries,” said New Hampshire Lottery Executive Director Charlie McIntyre. “We’re excited to join Mega Money Jackpots and to bring the excitement of it outsized prizes to our players. We know that our contribution will further enhance the game for everyone involved, and we look forward to creating some new millionaires here in New Hampshire.”
The Mega Money Jackpots pool is run by IWG, a prominent supplier of eInstant games to NASPL and WLA-member lotteries, and offers a variety of lottery games. Select eInstants from participating lotteries each contribute a small percentage of the sales to fund two progressive prize tiers. IWG then settles jackpot prize monies on a turnkey basis.
Hosted on IWG’s InstantRGS, the lotteries involved do not need to contribute any technology or developmental support and can join the system regardless of their iLottery platform provider.
Since launching in July 2023, Mega Money Jackpots has created eight millionaires and paid out jackpots totaling more than $20 million to more than 240 players across the participating lotteries. One Virginia Lottery player recently won a U.S. iLottery record $5.8 million eInstant prize.
“Kudos to the team at New Hampshire Lottery,” said IWG CEO Rhydian Fisher. “By joining Mega Money Jackpots, collectively we can award even more million-dollar prizes to lottery players. Not only is the game frequently creating new millionaires, but it has also been a leading catalyst for new player signups. Fingers crossed that some new millionaires will be created in New Hampshire very soon.”
New Hampshire online casino push stalls
Last year saw a legislative push to revamp New Hampshire’s online casino landscape, but progress stalled late in the year and hopes of any kind of industry review appear dead in the water for 2024.
Sen. Timothy Lang‘s Senate Bill 104 sought to regulate online gambling and create a community college education scholarship fund using the proceeds of gaming revenue. It passed through committee last spring and progressed through the Senate via a re-vote, but didn’t make it to the House.
The bill would have allowed the New Hampshire Lottery to open a bidding process for operators to run online casinos on their behalf. The lottery would have regulated the market.
However, Lang said in December that he would not file an online casino bill for 2024 after he was informed that the language used in his bill wouldn’t qualify for consideration in the New Hampshire House. Lang added that a procedural motion called “indefinite postponement” means he is barred from raising the topic again in its current form in 2024.
Lang said he will try to bring the topic back to the forefront in 2025. In the meantime, he will sit on a Gaming Study Commission that will review all New Hampshire gaming regulations.
