Partnership will provide NASPL members with leading tools, benchmarking, mentorship and resources designed to support continuous improvement in responsible gambling

CONCORD, Ohio (October 7, 2026) – The North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries today announced a new strategic partnership with digitalRG designed to strengthen responsible gambling practices across the North American lottery industry and provide NASPL members with new tools to support certification, benchmarking and continuous improvement.

Through the partnership, digitalRG will become the digital submission platform for the NASPL/NCPG Responsible Gambling Framework (RGF), creating a centralized environment for members, mentors and assessors. The platform is designed to simplify the certification process while providing lotteries with a more streamlined way to organize evidence, collaborate with mentors and document their responsible gaming efforts.

The partnership builds on NASPL’s ongoing commitment to helping its members evolve their responsible gaming programs as the gaming landscape continues to change.

“Responsible gambling has long been a fundamental priority for NASPL,” said Andrew White, Executive Director of NASPL. “This partnership gives our members new tools to improve, learn from one another and respond to an increasingly complex gaming environment. By making certification more efficient, strengthening peer collaboration and providing greater insight into evolving responsible gaming practices, we can continue to advance responsible gaming across our industry and strengthen player protection.”

Moving Beyond Certification

While the new partnership will modernize administration of the NASPL/NCPG Responsible Gambling Framework, the partnership is intended to extend beyond the certification process itself. NASPL members will have access to a digitized library of NASPL responsible gaming resources and enhanced mentorship functionality that connects lotteries and mentors directly within the platform. digitalRG will also streamline the process for companies pursuing multiple certifications, reducing duplicative effort.

A central component of the partnership will be the development of the North American RG Index, an annual benchmark built from anonymized, self-reported and certification activity across NASPL member jurisdictions. The Index is intended to provide members with greater insight into responsible gaming practices and trends across the industry, identify opportunities for continued development and provide data that can help demonstrate the value of ongoing responsible gaming investment.

NASPL will also expand opportunities for peer-to-peer learning through a structured mentorship initiative and webinars series integrated into NASPL’s existing programming. The mentorship model is designed to support lotteries at every stage of their responsible gaming efforts, creating additional opportunities to share expertise, learn from peers and advance through certification levels.

“We're incredibly proud to partner with NASPL and support its work to elevate the North American lottery ecosystem,” said James Mitchell, Growth & Partnerships Lead for digitalRG. “We believe player protection and commercial sustainability go hand in hand, and that together they define the world's leading lotteries. Bringing the NCPG/NASPL Responsible Gambling Framework onto the digitalRG platform will help operators streamline and strengthen their RG and security commitments. But our shared ambition goes much further. By combining our technology with NASPL's leadership and the commitment of its members, we can drive continuous improvement and build a lottery sector that is safe for players and sustainable for the long term.”

Advancing Responsible Gambling Across the Industry

The partnership is the latest step in NASPL’s ongoing efforts to provide members with the resources, expertise and opportunities for collaboration they need to strengthen their responsible gambling programs. By bringing certification, mentorship, resources and benchmarking into a more integrated environment, the digitalRG platform will help members more easily share best practices, identify new opportunities and build on the work already taking place across the industry.

As the gaming landscape continues to evolve, NASPL remains committed to ensuring responsible gambling evolves with it. By giving members better tools to learn, collaborate and continually improve, NASPL is helping advance a proactive, forward-looking approach to responsible gambling while strengthening player protections across the North American lottery industry.
