Special events and movie showings this summer mark new game and film’s anniversary; non-winning tickets offer a second chance to play for $1 million

AUSTIN (June 3, 2025) – Set to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the classic blockbuster movie, the Texas Lottery has launched a Jaws-inspired scratch off ticket game. This new $5 scratch ticket game features chances to win cash prizes up to $100,000. Players will also have opportunities to enjoy a wave of special events and movie showings this summer. Non-winning tickets from the scratch ticket game can be entered into the $1,000,000 JAWS Challenge Promotional Second-Chance Drawings for chances to win a VIP trip and cash prizes up to $1 million.

The Steven Spielberg-directed blockbuster, Jaws made its cinematic debut in 1975 and quickly turned into a phenomenon, earning accolades and awards on its way to becoming one of the highest grossing movies of all time. This summer, the Texas Lottery is teaming up with Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Texas to celebrate the movie’s milestone anniversary through special Jaws screenings.

“Our Jaws extravaganza will be swimmingly entertaining,” said Sergio Rey, acting deputy executive director of the Texas Lottery. “We can’t wait to give players the opportunity to revisit this iconic movie – or enjoy it for the first time – while offering them the chance to win $100,000 instantly or up to $1 million in our second-chance promotion.”
