The North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) is pleased to partner with the World Lottery Association (WLA) for a Joint Seminar on Responsible Gambling and Corporate Social Responsibility. Attendees at this important event will hear about the latest initiatives from lotteries around the world in the areas of RG and CSR. The seminar will be held in Atlanta at the Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park, January 7-9, 2025.
Two keynote speakers highlight the informative agenda: Georgia senator Bill Cowsert on January 8 and a representative from Atlanta-based AMB Sports and Entertainment on January 9. AMB is comprised of the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United FC, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta Drive GC, and PGA TOUR Superstore.
In addition, a number of educational sessions dive deep into a variety of topics. With attendance limited to 65, participants are encouraged to engage with speakers and their lottery peers to take full advantage of this intimate gathering of industry professionals dedicated to their craft. There are plenty of networking opportunities, including an evening event at the fabulous Georgia Aquarium.
Several sessions explore the best practices being utilized around the world on topics such as employee training, retailer training, stakeholder engagement, incentivizing players and RG marketing promotions. All of these subjects are essential for the success of any lottery’s RG program, and it’s always helpful to learn what other lotteries are doing in these areas. After all, the lottery industry is known for collaboration and information sharing.
There’s an important session on youth gambling prevention. It’s critical for any legal gambling industry operator to help reduce the incidence of gambling and foster a healthier environment for young people. Attendees will get an update on the very real danger of the latest methods utilized by video gaming companies, such as loot boxes, that may be fostering addictive behavior.
Responsible gambling is just one element of CSR, so there’s also a session focusing on environmental measures, such as environmental protection and economic sustainability. These efforts are important for lotteries desiring a balance between generating revenue and addressing broader social responsibilities, especially with the increasing attention paid to CSR among newer generations.
The seminar also puts a spotlight on the global CSR Digital RG Platform, a new tool that will enable lotteries to easily implement, track and investigate RG/CSR efforts from around the world. A tour and demonstration of the platform will be provided.
In other sessions, attendees will learn about the latest in RG research, along with the significant role influencers can play in creating and marketing a vibrant RG program.
Finally, NASPL Level I Associate Member Partners and WLA Platinum Contributors will share their own RG/CSR efforts. As valued partners to lotteries around the world, these companies all strive to be good corporate citizens.
Don’t miss this special event! Registration is now open, and the deadline to book a room at the Omni Atlanta Hotel is December 17. Regular seminar updates are available here.
