Sales is at the heart of the Kentucky Lottery’s mission to return proceeds to the state to fund seven scholarships and grants to students across the Commonwealth. The talent and success of Corporate Account Manager Haley Henderson has played a pivotal role in the Lottery’s success during her four-year tenure.

Haley joined the Kentucky Lottery in 2021. She hit the ground running and has not stopped racking up success after success to ensure that the Lottery’s many fun and exciting games resonate with players and retailers. Haley is someone who absolutely will not be outworked and always has her eye on the prize. If you give her a project, she just pours everything into it. Her learning and growth here at the Lottery reflect this mentality and that of the Ott Brown NASPL Scholarship.

In her first full year as a Lottery Sales Representative, she finished number one, in sales over quota, on the Bluegrass Region Field Sales team and was named Rookie of the Year. She took this hard work and determination with her when she was promoted to Corporate Account Manager in the summer of 2023. She was named the number one Corporate Account Manager for fiscal year 2024 and has held on to the top spot throughout this fiscal year.

In fiscal year 2024, Haley’s accomplishments were astounding. She improved and added nearly 1,000 new ticket facings, ran multiple promotions in partnership with her corporate accounts and gained retailer support for more than two dozen social media posts. She also signed on several significant new corporate accounts. She was a regular on the “100 Percent Activation Club” for several game launches – even during the week of her wedding. Game out-of-stocks in her first month was a respectable low of 4.2%, and by the fourth quarter of the fiscal year she achieved 2.%. She finished the year at 106.81% over quota – including 102.2% of scratch quota. She is on pace to repeat these successes this fiscal year.

Haley’s chain retailers are mission critical to the Kentucky Lottery, and Haley’s strategic and insightful approach ensures they are performing at their best, ultimately generating Lottery-funded scholarships and grants for Kentucky students and their families. For example, Kroger Personal Finance Manager Rene Kendrick said Haley brought it to her attention that Kroger sales were suffering because of the location of two of their ticket vending machines. Haley had the machines strategically relocated and sales skyrocketed.

“I got an e-mail (from Haley) that said we need a third machine, and I was excited for that,” Rene said. “So we added a third machine.” With sales continuing to climb at this Kroger location, Haley helped add a fourth vending machine. Rene said employees at her store now call the four vending machines “Eenie, Meenie, Miney and Mo.”

The success of increasing Lottery sales at this Kroger store is “all due to Haley’s partnership with us. Giving me the information that I need, giving me the support that I need to be successful at this store and to provide our lottery customers the best experience possible,” Rene said.

Haley replicates this strategic and insightful approach for all the corporate accounts she manages. With all her successes and those to come, Haley clearly demonstrates, on a daily basis, the integrity and commitment behind the Ott Brown NASPL Scholarship Award and is an outstanding representative of the Kentucky Lottery.
