CHARLESTON, W.Va. (February 20, 2026) – In celebration of its 40th anniversary year, the West Virginia Lottery has officially announced the launch of its Back to Our Roots Tour, featuring stops at 40 retailer locations across the state throughout the next eight months.

Tying in with the Lottery’s inception in 1986, the tour will be ‘80s themed, complete with polaroid stations and the perfect playlist of ‘80s tunes, courtesy of on-site radio remotes in partnership with West Virginia Radio.

“We are so excited to bring this tour to players and retailers all across the state,” Deputy Director of Marketing Danielle Snidow said. “The 1980s have always been one of my favorite decades, and we can’t wait to celebrate the music, memories, and iconic moments that made that era so special. It’s the perfect way to mark the Lottery’s 40th anniversary while sharing some ‘80s fun, giving everyone a chance to win prizes along the way.”

Unlike typical lottery on-site promotions, there will be no wheel spin at these events. Any $5 purchase gains entry into two drawings tied with the promotion- one occurring at the end of each two-hour event, and the other at the conclusion of the tour in November.

The on-site promotional drawings will feature opportunities for players to win packs of promotional scratch-offs, concert tickets, sporting event tickets, lottery swag, and more. Some promotional drawings may even feature tickets to local events based on the location of the promotion.

“This tour was designed to not only celebrate our 40 years,” Snidow continued, “but also gain involvement from the communities around our state and the players that helped bring us to this anniversary. We have been able to give over $13.7 billion to great causes for the state, and we hope to continue this for another 40 years.”

The final drawing will feature four players taking home $10,000 each, but a win at any on-site drawing does not disqualify a player from a chance at the big drawing at the end of the tour. For a complete schedule and drawing rules, visit the News & Events tab at wvlottery.com.
