CDC GAMING REPORTS (March 26, 2024) – Global sports betting operator Tipico has announced that it has earned Internet Compliance Assessment Program accreditation in New Jersey and Ohio for its customer protection practices.
iCAP is administered by the National Council on Problem Gambling, the national advocate to mitigate gambling-related harm. The program is based on its Internet Responsible Gambling Standards, which address self-exclusion, advertising and promotion, payments and more.
Tipico is the first sportsbook in the United States to get iCAP accreditation, the highest standard for player protection in U.S. online gambling. Tipico’s certification is valid through March 2026.
Getting iCAP accreditation requires a comprehensive assessment of company governance, customer support, employee training and efforts in research and education.

“iCAP accreditation is a meaningful award for Tipico because it validates our approach to make fair play a companywide initiative that requires buy-in by our employees. I am incredibly proud of our team for rallying around our efforts to continuously improve safety and clarity,” said Bryan Schroeder, senior vice president of compliance & legal at Tipico. “Our primary goal is to ensure customers have the best possible experience when they place a bet because they trust us and our products.”
Feedback from the assessment highlighted features incorporated in Tipico’s Fair Play Pledge, which the company unveiled in February. Features include transparent communication of odds and promotions, limits and cool-off periods, and 24/7 customer service administered by humans.
“Tipico Sportsbook’s iCAP accreditation is a testament to their dedication to player protection. Through this achievement, Tipico showcases exemplary leadership and a commitment to responsible gambling best practices.”
