Continuing legacy of responsible growth and support for K–12 public education
BATON ROUGE, La. (November 12, 2025) – The Louisiana Lottery Corporation announced today that it has transferred $181.5 million to the state treasury for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, continuing its legacy of responsible growth and its critical role in funding K–12 public education across Louisiana.
Since its inception, the Lottery has generated more than $4.9 billion for the state, which is dedicated to the Minimum Foundation Program (MFP).
“The Louisiana Lottery’s mission is simple and steadfast: to maximize revenue for the state in a way that is secure, transparent, and responsible,” said Rose Hudson, President and CEO. “Every dollar we transfer represents a tangible investment in Louisiana’s future.”
For Fiscal Year 2025, the Lottery reported $585.2 million in total revenue. Consistent performance across its product portfolio—particularly instant-win and numbers games—ensured a stable foundation despite lower jackpot sales, demonstrating the organization’s ability to adapt to changing market dynamics while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and operational excellence.
“Together, we are delivering sustained growth and long-term impact for Louisiana.”
By law, 25% of Lottery sales are transferred to the state treasury and dedicated to the MFP, serving as a stable and recurring source of funding for Louisiana’s public schools.
Louisiana’s more than 2,900 Lottery retailers also play a vital role in the organization’s success. In FY25, the Lottery paid $32.9 million in retailer commissions, supporting small businesses and generating economic activity in communities across the state. These retail partners are often locally owned and operated, serving as the public’s primary connection to Lottery games.
“This year’s transfer reflects a collective effort — from our retail partners and players to the dedicated Lottery team,” Hudson added. “Together, we are delivering sustained growth and long-term impact for Louisiana.”
The Lottery remains committed to financial transparency. Its Annual Report, which shares how the LouisianaLottery continues to fulfill its mission, along with quarterly financial reports, is publicly available at FY25 Annual Report. Visitors can also find historical treasury transfer information and other financial reports on the site year-round.
