ATLANTA (April 30, 2025) – The Georgia Lottery Corp. is proud to have once again been awarded accreditation from the National Council on Problem Gambling’s Internet Compliance Assessment Program, or iCAP. The accreditation, valid from April 2025 through April 2027, reflects the Georgia Lottery’s ongoing commitment to best practices in online player protection and responsible gaming.

This is the Georgia Lottery’s fifth iCAP accreditation, having first received the certification in 2017. iCAP is the first and only U.S. accreditation program that evaluates and endorses responsible gambling standards for online platforms. The designation demonstrates a company’s dedication to minimizing gambling-related harm and supporting players with comprehensive safeguards and resources.

“This iCAP reaccreditation underscores our commitment to offering Georgians a fun and safe way to play, and to ensuring our online platforms reflect the highest standards of player protection,” said Gretchen Corbin, president and CEO of the Georgia Lottery.

“We celebrate this extraordinary milestone and applaud the Georgia Lottery’s serious and sustained commitment to responsible gambling and player protection,” said Jaime Costello, Director of Programs for the National Council on Problem Gambling.

The iCAP assessment evaluates nine key areas of responsible gaming:

  1. Corporate policy and commitment to responsible gaming

  2. Staff training

  3. Information and tools available to players to assist in informed decision-making

  4. Time and budget management on the Players Club account

  5. Self-exclusion and player-initiated restrictions on online play

  6. Customer support and assistance for players in distress

  7. Responsible advertising and promotion

  8. Game play and website features that assist with gambling responsibly

  9. Research, education, and treatment commitments

The Georgia Lottery contributes $400,000 annually to the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) to fund programs focused on the research, education, and treatment of gambling addiction. This commitment supports broader statewide efforts to promote responsible play and provide help to those in need.

The two-year iCAP accreditation provides reassurance to players, regulators, stakeholders, and employees that the Georgia Lottery prioritizes safe gambling practices, harm prevention and continuous improvement.
