TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (July 25, 2025) – The Florida Lottery is proud to announce a new milestone in its longstanding mission to support education across the Sunshine State: more than $49 billion has now been transferred to Florida’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) since the Lottery’s inception in 1988.
This achievement reflects the Lottery’s ongoing commitment to Florida’s students and educators, from supporting K-12 programs and classroom enhancements to providing scholarships and expanding access to higher education and workforce training.
“Reaching $49 billion in contributions represents millions of opportunities created for students, teachers, and communities statewide. This milestone is a testament to the powerful impact the Lottery continues to have on the future of education in Florida.”
“Every ticket purchased makes a difference,” said Florida Lottery Secretary John F. Davis. “Reaching $49 billion in contributions represents millions of opportunities created for students, teachers, and communities statewide. This milestone is a testament to the powerful impact the Lottery continues to have on the future of education in Florida.”
“Florida’s students are afforded the opportunity to excel with the funds contributed to education by the Florida Lottery,” said Commissioner of Education Anastasios Kamoutsas. “The $49 billion raised is a major milestone and we are thankful to the Florida Lottery for its funds that support Florida’s children.”
Through dedicated funding, the Florida Lottery helps ensure students across the state have the resources and opportunities they need to succeed in school and beyond. One of the most impactful uses of Lottery dollars is the Bright Futures Scholarship Program, which has helped more than 1 million students attend college or career training since its creation.
The Florida Lottery remains steadfast in its mission: funding education, supporting students, and strengthening Florida’s future, one ticket at a time.
