PUEBLO, Colo. (July 2, 2025) – Launched last year for the first time, the Colorado Lottery is now giving the public the power to select their top Starburst Award recipient via the People’s Choice Starburst Award. This award offers Lottery proceeds partners, players, and the public a chance to vote on their favorite Starburst Award project. With 1,858 out of more than 16,000 votes submitted, last year’s winner was Panorama Park in Colorado Springs.
Running July 1-31, Lottery Starburst Award winners will promote their projects to compete for this prestigious award. People can vote for their favorite project once per day by email or on the contest website, and every day for the month-long competition. For each vote, entrants are entered into a contest to win a Lottery prize pack valued at more than $200.

"Last year’s response to our first People’s Choice Starburst Award was overwhelming,” said Tom Seaver, senior director of the Colorado Lottery. “The fans of our Starburst Award winners came out in full force to bring in the win for their favorite project. But of course, all of these projects are winners in my eyes, and Colorado is the ultimate winner, thanks to our loyal players."
This year, 14 impactful projects - leveraging more than $116 million in Lottery funds - were honored with a Starburst Award for their excellence. The Lottery chose diverse projects from across the state based on their creativity, economic and social impact on the community, and goals achieved.
