DORCHESTER, Mass. (October 14, 2025) – The Massachusetts State Lottery is hosting blood drives at its Dorchester headquarters and Braintree regional office to support the needs of patients from Boston Children's Hospital:
Wednesday, October 22
1515 Washington St., Braintree
Drive Code: MALOTTBR
Wednesday, October 29
150 Mt. Vernon St., Dorchester
Drive Code: MALOTT
Both drives are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments are required on the Boston Children’s Bloodmobile. To schedule an appointment, please visit www.bostonchildrens.org/halfpints or call 617-355-6677. If scheduling online, use the drive code listed above. Parking at both locations is free.
A photo ID is required to donate blood. Prior to your appointment, please eat a healthy meal and be well hydrated.
Blood donation appointments take less than an hour and can help as many as four patients who rely on donations from healthy volunteers. Blood donations directly benefit Boston Children’s patients undergoing cancer treatment, cardiac surgery or transplant, and those with genetic blood disorders and who need regular blood transfusions.
The Boston Children's Blood Donor Center is an independent collection facility, serving the needs of pediatric patients in the Longwood Medical Area. Established in 1958, Boston Children’s Blood Donor Center supplies virtually all of the blood and blood products used at Boston Children's Hospital.
All presenting donors will receive a Boston Children’s Blood Donor Center Halloween t-shirt. To show your support, share photos of the Boston Children’s Bloodmobile on social media using the hashtag #GivePintsforHalfPints.
