Field Service Representative - Advanced, Wisconsin Lottery

Lee Baril has been an integral part of the Wisconsin Lottery team for 25 years. He has helped guide the evolution of programs and processes the Lottery uses, trained new hires, and even created instant scratch ticket ideas and art.
Lee has helped the Wisconsin Lottery improve its policies and procedures by sharing his knowledge and expertise with other divisions of the organization. By serving on multiple Lottery committees over the course of his Field Marketing Representative career he has provided insight into challenges at retail, provided feedback on process changes, and made suggestions to make selling Wisconsin Lottery products easier for his retailers. Currently he serves on the FMR Advisory Committee that provides field perspective on questions posed by other Lottery sections as they consider adding or changing products and procedures. Additionally, he has been on the Vending Machine Committee helping to determine qualifications and placement for vending machines and the Short-Term Incentive Committee which develops the incentives offered to retailers – just to name a few.
The Wisconsin Lottery is in the process of conversion for all software and hardware products. Lee is a member of Retailer Equipment Committee reviewing equipment specifications for multiple new products. He is not afraid to ask questions to make sure these products will function in a way that simplifies processes for retailers and provides retailers the necessary training and documentation they need to be successful. He has spent countless hours reviewing documents and participating in meetings all while maintaining his regular book of business.
Lee is always willing to assist his fellow FMRs in their territories when asked and encourages them to reach out to him if they have questions. He has assisted in covering vacant territories for extended periods of time and large volume chain change of ownerships (CHOWS) occurring in one day, including stores outside of his territory. He has been asked numerous times to mentor new hires and never hesitates to take this leadership role. He spends time with them in the field training on lottery procedures, software, and efficiencies he has learned over the course of his career.
Being a very creative individual, he enjoys coming up with new instant scratch ticket ideas. While not all of his ideas have become tickets, his most recent submission was used by Wisconsin Lottery’s product development team: $20 TURTLE-Y AWESOME $200's. Lee not only came up with the name he also provided the artwork for the ticket.
Lee's passion and versatility have made him an invaluable member of the Wisconsin Lottery team. He is always ready to help, looks at every situation with a positive attitude, and enjoys the work he does. His lottery family and retailers have the utmost respect for him and truly enjoy working with him.
