PUEBLO, Colo. (August 18, 2026) – The Colorado Lottery announced today that it has achieved a record Scratch game sales year and nearly $888 million in total revenue for FY 2025-26. The Lottery's total proceeds beneficiary support exceeded $181 million.

A record year for Scratch and a strong jackpot year, thanks to big jackpots in September and December of 2025, helped the Lottery achieve a banner year. Scratch sales came in at more than $613 million, slightly higher than last year’s numbers, and Jackpot sales saw a more than 20% increase to more than $274 million, thanks to the large national jackpot runs.

These sales helped the Lottery reach the Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) cap of nearly $88 million, which in turn allowed the Lottery to fund more than $2.7 million for the Outdoor Equity Grant Program. GOCO receives 50% of Lottery proceeds, up to a capped amount each year. Receiving 40% of Lottery proceeds funding, the Conservation Trust Fund (CTF) will receive more than $72 million. Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), which receives 10% of direct Lottery funding and GOCO funding, will receive more than $18 million from the Lottery.

“The Lottery is modernizing its operations and refreshing its game offerings to continue to grow its revenue to support Colorado’s amazing outdoor spaces,” said Colorado Lottery Senior Director Tom Seaver. “We are adding more retailers than ever to our roster and believe these changes will allow us to support our proceeds partners well into the future. As we grow our Lottery and expand our proceeds partners, we are also progressing our player health program as well.”

The Lottery’s FY 2025-26 revenue success was spurred in part by the addition of 130 new retail locations and the transition to a new gaming system. It has expanded its partnerships with outdoor and conservation organizations and is evolving its player health program, adopting evidence-based public health messaging to improve engagement and reach more players.

Of every dollar spent on Lottery games, approximately 63 cents goes back to winners and about 20 cents goes to proceeds beneficiaries. In FY 2025-26, Lottery retailers received more than $64 million selling Lottery products.

Please note that lottery sales and proceeds numbers provided are unaudited and subject to slight variations.

About Colorado Lottery

The Colorado Lottery operates under three equal pillars: Revenue, Conservation, and Responsibility. Since 1983, the Colorado Lottery has returned more than $4.6 billion to outdoor projects through Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO), the Conservation Trust Fund, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW). Once the GOCO proceeds cap is met, additional proceeds recipients include the Outdoor Equity Grant Program, Building Excellent Schools Today, Outdoor Recreation Industry Office, and other outdoor-related CPW funds. Proceeds from sales of Lottery games – Scratch, Powerball, Mega Millions, Colorado Lotto+, Millionaire for Life, Cash 5, and Pick 3 – support parks, trails, recreation, wildlife, and open space in Colorado, utilizing industry best practices for player health.
